The success of the Navy’s mission is based on a set of key processes, responsible for the operational, scientific and cultural products, that is, the institutional product of the Navy.
This includes military operations such as combating piracy, embargo and maritime interdiction missions, control of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or the rescue of nationals of territories in conflict situations; marine research and rescue, fisheries inspection, support for the repression of illegal maritime activities in close collaboration with other State agents, scientific research in support of the project to extend the Portuguese continental shelf and cultural activities among museums, among others .
