The Armed Forces
The Constitution in its Article 275 states: 1. The Armed Forces is responsible for the military defense of the Republic.
2. The Armed Forces are composed exclusively of Portuguese citizens and their organization is unique for the whole national territory.
3. The Armed Forces obey the competent organs of sovereignty, under the terms of the Constitution and the law.
